Therapist-facilitated group workshops for engaged and dating couples looking for a space to have intentional dialogue before starting the next chapter.

Summer Workshop

June 1, 2025 | Bethesda, MD

Do you feel aligned with your partner, but want to be absolutely sure you're on the same page about important topics like money, family, communication, and long-term goals?

Have you had meaningful conversations about the future, but sometimes find yourselves unsure of how to navigate certain questions or concerns?

Are you excited about marriage, but want to avoid common pitfalls and feel fully prepared for the journey ahead?

Would you love to connect with other engaged or committed couples who are having similar conversations and experiences?

If so, you’re in the right place.

Premarital Workshops are full-day, therapist-led, in-person programs designed to help strong engaged & committed couples like you explore your relationship and set yourselves up for long-term success.

The focused nature of this intensive workshop means you can make significant strides in just one day. The tools you learn and discussions you begin will set you up for additional conversations in the weeks and years to come.

Research shows us that premarital counseling is associated with higher levels of relationship satisfaction and longevity. By doing this important work, the hope is that you’ll feel even more secure in the partnership you’re building, knowing that you’re better equipped with the skills and foundational elements to face anything that comes your way!

Why not start this new chapter as the best you two can be?

More Information

  • This workshop is for engaged or strongly committed couples wanting to strengthen their skills and have intentional conversations. Couples must be between the ages of 25-40. All cultural, racial, religious, gender, and sexual identities are welcome!

  • The upcoming workshop will be held on Sunday June 1, 2025 from 9 am until 5 pm (I know, long day! But it will be worth it!)

  • Cost for the workshop is $350 per couple.

  • Included in the cost is:

-An all-day, in-person workshop in Bethesda

    -Coffee, tea, and snacks

-A binder of tools, prompts, and resources

-One complimentary follow-up couples session [optional]

  • The first part of the day will focus on communication skill building. We’ll dive into conflict resolution and problem solving, giving you new tools and further developing those you already have.

In the second part of the day, you and your partner will be guided through discussions and activities to help you align on some of the most important topics for a connected and sustainable relationship.

  • This is completely up to you! If you’re struggling with recurring bumps in your communication or disagree consistently on topics like finances, parenting, or lifestyle, premarital therapy sessions might be the better fit for you. Learn more about premarital therapy here.

If you and your partner typically feel aligned and are interested in finding a space to have these intentional conversations without the weekly commitment, this workshop might be a great fit! Exploring these topics in a group setting is also a unique opportunity to hear diverse perspectives, share experiences, and connect with others who are on the same journey.

  • The majority of the discussions about your relationship will happen in breakout groups of just you and your partner. Group conversation will not center around what you and your partner discuss, and in those spaces you are welcome to share as much or as little as you’d like.

  • Nope! Unlike many premarital workshops, this one is secular. While you are more than welcome to include faith and spirituality in your discussions with your partner, it’s not a topic specific to this workshop. These workshops can be a fantastic supplement to the premarital conversations you’re having with your officiant or clergy members.

  • This workshop is for strong couples who want to get stronger!

There are many reasons to do premarital counseling, even when things are going well. And honestly—when was the last time you took a full day to intentionally discuss your relationship and future?

Of course, nothing is one-size-fits-all. If you’re still not sure if it’s the right fit, reach out today! I’d be happy to talk with you or your partner to see if it’s the right investment for you.
